American Federation of Arts patrons will be spending an exciting long weekend in Paris, May 1–4, 2014 and you can be a part of this VIP experience, too. Over six years in the planning, the AFA’s upcoming traveling exhibition. Gods and Heroes: Masterpieces from the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris will embark on its four-city tour in the United States in June, but before this, the AFA will have the rare opportunity to meet with the curator and explore the École’s treasures in Paris. The École des Beaux-Arts (which is not normally open to the public) has origins that date back to the mid-17th century, and in addition to being one of Europe’s most celebrated art academies, it is home to some 450,000 paintings, prints, and drawings, making it one of the largest collections in France.
