CAN’T MISS CHARITY AND ESTATE SALE: The Largest Charity Sale in Texas Raises Money for Children

It’s that time of year again. Time for the highly anticipated four day Settlement Home Charity and Garage Sale begins on Thursday, November 6 and an entire community has been waiting a year since the last one that does so much good for so many. Named the largest charity sale in Texas, The Settlement Home Sale is a year-long endeavor that culminates into four days of shopping. Deftly volunteer-organized and run, the Garage & Estate Sale boasts a massive inventory of merchandise, all of which has been donated by the community. More than 25,000 shoppers can browse for treasures and bargain-priced deals in 21 incredibly well-organized departments. In 2013 the Garage Sale raised more than $650,000. It’s truly a remarkable gathering of hearts and minds at the Palmer Event Center, now with expanded sales floor to display even more items.

All proceeds from the Charity Garage & Estate Sale go to The Settlement Home for Children, the legendary 98-year-old Austin non-profit that cares for individuals with histories of severe trauma, abuse and neglect. Programs include a residential treatment center, group home program, transitional living program and foster and adoption program for abused and neglected children. It provides housing, food, schooling, therapy and more to children who are trying to heal from the pain of abuse and neglect.
