SETTLING IN: THE 38TH ANNUAL SETTLEMENT HOME FOR CHILDREN CHARITY GARAGE SALE

It’s that time again. Time for the treasure trove filled Settlement Home For Children’s garage sale. As we all know, this sale is an Austin tradition. Run by the Settlement Club, a group of volunteer women, and volunteers from the community, this one of a kind event is not to be missed. There are 21 well organized departments such as: clothing, toys, books, holiday items, art, furniture, crafts, organize it and so much more. From vintage to beautiful, funky to functional, there is something for everyone. And beyond.

The fun kicks off at this year’s Preview Party, the first chance for shoppers to buy items found at the sale… those who need more shopping time, you can become a sponsor and take part in the Private Sponsor Shopping Hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., then stay for the Preview Party.

Then, keep shopping during the General Sale Days: Friday, November 1 - Sunday, November 3 at:

Friday - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. $5 Admission. (tickets available at the door or at Randall's Food Markets.)

Saturday - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free Admission

Sunday - 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Free Admission

Sunday - 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Box Sale

The club’s Box Sale is always a fun way to end the garage sale weekend. How? Purchase an empty box and line up at the door. At 3 p.m., the doors open and shoppers rush in to fill their boxes. If it fits, you carry it and keep it.

In 2012, the Garage Sale raised more than $625,000 and they hope to beat that record this year and we hope so, too. You can help by being a part of the weekend. During the Sunday of the sale, The Settlement Home holds its community outreach program, Giving for Living. The Settlement Home gives other non-profits $25 shopping certificates to give to their clients. Those individuals and families can then shop for much needed items at the sale. This is The Settlement Home's way of helping the entire Austin community. Live here, give here indeed.
