We love that the highly anticipated every-other-year event supporting the Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin is off to the races with tickets sales for Off the Wall: 2015 Blanton Museum of Art Gala. This black-tie event will be Saturday, February 7, followed by Art on the Edge, a festive after-party.
It takes a village to produce and event, as we all know, and UT alumni Judy and Charles Tate (Houston) will serve as honorary chairs of the gala, and their collection of Latin American art, recently gifted to the Blanton, will be on view during the event. How cool is that? The regional event chairs include Janet Allen and Andrea McWilliams (Austin); Sylvie and Gary Crum and Leila and Walt Mischer (Houston); Sally and Tom Dunning (Dallas); and Kit Moncrief (Fort Worth).
We love that the Blanton gala is a biennial event that raises essential support for the museum’s key programs. Funds raised actually provide critical funding for the museum’s wide range of exhibitions, extensive educational programming for students, adults, and children of all ages, and collection care, and will further the development of the visual arts in Austin, at UT, and throughout the state.
Tables for 10 are available at the following levels: $100,000, $50,000, $25,000, $15,000, $10,000, and depending on availability, individual tickets will be sold at a later date.
Then there is the Art on the Edge, the gala after party, which will take place from 9PM-midnight and is the festive soiree for art lovers from Austin and beyond that will feature live music and dancing, and complimentary cocktails and light bites. Tickets are $100 for the general public. A limited number of discounted early bird tickets for Blanton members will be released in October.
Catering for the gala will be provided by Four Seasons, and by Word of Mouth for the pre-event cocktails and after party. Mandarin Flower Co. will provide floral arrangements.
